Main Role

Nabihah is based in Malaysia and works closely together with the Claim Recovery team, managing all recoveries claims for each line of business in Asia Pacific region.

Personal Profile

Nabihah joined Liberty in 2023.  Prior to this Nabihah practiced as a lawyer in the field of white-collar crimes and criminal litigation.

She holds a degree in Bachelor of Laws (Honours).

Main Role

As the Head of Claims, Rob leads a team of over 40 people across Asia Pacific.

Personal Profile

Rob has been involved in the insurance industry for over 20 years in Australia and the UK. He has also acted as an solicitor for both insurers and insureds in Australia.  Having joined Liberty in 2015, Rob was appointed Senior Vice President – Head of Claims Asia Pacific in August 2021.

Main Role

Amalina is based in Malaysia and handles a Third Party Casualty portfolio of claims across the Asia Pacific. 

Personal Profile

Amalina joined Liberty in 2023 and focuses on Third Party Casualty claims. Amalina has a legal background and insurance industry experience, specialising in liability claims. 

Amalina holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B)(Hons) degree.

Main Role

Angus oversees the Casualty, Workers Compensation and Crisis Management claims teams across the Asia Pacific Region working closely with underwriters, claims professionals and risk engineers to ensure optimum outcomes.

Personal Profile

Angus has over 30 years of commercial experience including 19 years leading claims management, adjusting and investigation businesses. Prior to joining Liberty in 2015 Angus was General Manager of a large Australian loss adjusting business overseeing all professional claims staff across multi lines. Angus is highly regarded for his drive, attention to detail and client focussed approach.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Business, Executive Certificate in Insurance, ANZIIF (Fellow), CIP, FAIM.

Main role

Nathan leads the First Party Claims team for Asia Pacific, encompassing Liberty's Agriculture, Marine, Energy, Property, Construction and Terrorism products. He is responsible for ensuring a proactive, technically sound, and commercially pragmatic Claims service across these product lines. 

Personal profile

Nathan joined Liberty in 2008. He has managed Liberty's Asia Pacific Workers Compensation claims portfolio, the Australian Claims team across all products and the Asia Pacific First Party Claims team.

Nathan also served as Chief Legal Counsel for Asia Pacific and previously qualified as an accredited mediator.

Prior to joining Liberty, Nathan worked in both private practice and in-house legal roles. He has extensive experience in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, product development, wording reviews and managing highly complex claims across all of Liberty's product lines.

Thuy is Assistant Vice President & Claims Manager, Asia Pacific and leads the Retail and Outsourcing Claims team which is responsible for the oversight and management of our retail claims and outsourcing arrangements across multiple product lines.

Personal profile

Thuy joined Liberty in September 2016 working on claims management and outsourcing across the accident and health portfolios. With over 15 years of valuable insurance experience including general insurance products in both domestic and international insurance, she specialises in claims outsourcing, retail claims, and claims operations.

Main Role

Alison manages a wide range of Professional & Financial Risks claims.

Personal Profile

Alison has been working in insurance and the law since 2001 with experience in Public Liability, Professional Indemnity (PI) and Directors’ & Officers' Liability (D&O) matters. Alison has also gained international experience working with Liberty in London where she specialised in PI claims.

Prior to joining Liberty Alison handled Public Liability, PI and D&O claims across various jurisdictions in Australia.

Alison holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws and is admitted to practice as a solicitor in NSW.

Professional & Financial Risks Claims

Main Role

Based in Sydney, James has technical and portfolio oversight of all Professional and Financial Risk claims throughout the Asia Pacific region. 

Personal Profile

James has over 30 years’ experience in financial lines claims across a variety of professions but with particular focus on complex and high value construction claim.

James holds a degree in Masters of Business Administration and is CIP, Fellow of ANZIIF.  His professional experience includes work on Professional & Financial Risks claims at a number of other insurers in Australia as well as four years working as a claims broker in the London market.

Li Sa is based in Singapore and handles Third Party Liability claims in Asia.

Personal Profile

With over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, Li Sa has a strong background in liability claims.  Prior to joining Liberty, Li Sa specialised in personal injury claims, litigation management and dispute resolution.

Li Sa holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in General Insurance.

Yvonne is based in the Malaysia office and provides claim support for the First Party claims team in Asia Pacific.

Personal Profile

Yvonne joined Liberty in 2019 and has been in the insurance industry since 2014 including her time working with an insurance broker.

She holds a Bachelor of Business & Commerce and is currently working towards an Associateship of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (AMII).

Jon manages and is responsible for all Recovery claims for each line of business for the Asia Pacific region.

Personal Profile

Jon is a qualified lawyer who has practiced in New South Wales and Victoria and has over 25 years of insurance experience.  He has advised on and handled many large and complex claims across numerous lines of business including Financial lines, Property, Casualty, Accident & Health, Crisis and Marine.

He joined Liberty in 2017 to establish a dedicated Recoveries Unit.

Prior to joining Liberty he worked for a number of international and Australian insurers and underwriters as a Claims Recovery specialist, General Counsel and Claims Manager.  He has drafted policy wordings, advised on compliance issues and managed claims in all jurisdictions of Australia, New Zealand, Asia and various other parts of the world.

Penny is Claims Manager for the Marine group, specializing in Cargo, Project Cargo, Carriers, Commercial Hull and Marine Liabilities claims.

Personal Profile

Penny joined Liberty Specialty Markets in early 2019 having worked in Marine claims since 2010, predominantly with Marine Cargo claims.  Prior to joining the insurance industry Penny was a cargo surveyor of 5 years' standing.

Penny is currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma in General Insurance and Risk Management with the Singapore College of Insurance.

Aisyah is based in Malaysia and provides support to the First Party claims team in Asia Pacific.

Personal profile

Aisyah joined Liberty in 2023, previously working as a Loss Adjuster and was primarily responsible for First Party claims.

Aisyah holds a BSc (Honours) in Forensic Science degree.

Shurekha joined Liberty in 2022 with years of experience in claims handling.

Shurekha holds a BBA (Hons) in Human Resource Management.

Kenneth handles Casualty and Crisis Management claims in North Asia.

Personal profile

Kenneth has been working as a loss adjuster for more than 14 years.  In addition to handling both property and casualty claims, he has also participated in catastrophic losses in Taiwan and Guam.  Prior to joining Liberty he worked at an insurance company and brokerage firm for six years, where he focused on employees' compensation claims, products liability claims and an international insurance program.

Laries is based in Malaysia and handles First Party claims across the Asia Pacific with a diverse portfolio of Marine, Energy, Property and Construction.

Personal Profile

Laries joined Liberty in 2023 and previously worked with the underwriting department of a life insurance company. 

Laries holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Actuarial Science and is currently pursuing the Associateship of The Malaysian Insurance Institute (AMII).

Based in Malaysia, Erliza manages a portfolio of Casualty and Professional Indemnity/D&O claims.

Personal Profile

Joining Liberty in mid 2020, Erliza worked as a Loss Adjuster for almost 3 years, and was primarily responsible for handling property damage, fidelity guarantee and third party liability claims.

Erliza holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Forensic Science.

Nelfi is based in Malaysia and provides support to the First Party claims team in Asia Pacific.

Personal Profile

Nelfi joined Liberty in 2022 with legal and insurance industry experience, managing claims.  Nelfi focuses on First Party Energy, Property, Construction and Marine claims.

Nelfi holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Honours) degree.
